Montgomery County police: DC man arrested for armed carjacking, 2 suspects still loose

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Md. (DC News Now) — A 23-year-old man in D.C. was arrested in connection to an armed carjacking in Silver Spring back in Febuary, according to the Montgomery County Department of Police (MCDP).

Christopher Eugene Light was arrested in D.C. on March 25. He is awaiting extradition to Montgomery County where has been charged with armed robbery, armed carjacking and other firearm related charges.

Officers responded to the carjacking report at 4:20 a.m. on Feb. 5 at the cross-section between Thayer Avenue and Mayor Lane, police said.

MCDP said the three men responsible for the carjacking were in a white Audi SQ5 stolen in New Jersey back in October 2023. They were armed with handguns with blue lasers and an assault rifle.

The men ordered two victims to get out of their car, robbed them and then drove away in their car followed by the white Audi, according to MCDP.

Detectives are still looking for two suspects.
