Montgomery County Election Commission has appointed Amanda Joslin as the new Administrator of Elections, effective March 25.

The position became available when former Administrator of Elections Elizabeth Black accepted the position as the County Purchasing Director.

Black became Administrator of Elections in 2017.

“We appreciate the applicants who applied for the position," said Montgomery County Election Commission Chair Rick Longton.  "Choosing Amanda was a unanimous decision based on her experience, passion and preparedness to take on the role. We anticipate record turnout for the November 5th Presidential election."

Joslin, a Montgomery County native and a graduate of Clarksville High School, has more than 16 years of experience working for Montgomery County's Election Commission. Prior to being appointed as the Administrator of Elections, she was the senior deputy clerk.

In the county election press release, Joslin said she loves spending time with her family. She is married with four children ranging in age from four to 19 years old.

“I have a fantastic team in place and have had some great leadership during my tenure with the Election Commission," said Joslin. "I am ready to put my experience to work in a new way.”

As Administrator of Elections, Joslin will be responsible for the daily operations of the Election Office. Responsibilities include maintenance of voter registration files, campaign disclosure records, other required records, instruction of poll workers, dissemination of information regarding all aspects of the electoral process and propmotion of the electoral process.

There are two more elections this year in Montgomery County this year: the August 1 Tennessee state primary and Nov. 5 presidential election.
