Montco Women's Commission Hosting Panel On Discrimination

The panel will discuss unequal pay, pregnancy discrimination, sexual harassment, and more.

NORRISTOWN, PA — An upcoming panel in Montgomery County will discuss discrimination against women, unequal pay, pregnancy discrimination, sexual harassment, and more.

The event, organized by the Montgomery County on Women and Families, will take place on Oct. 11 at 6 p.m. at The Presidential in East Norriton.

Several panelists from the Women's Law Project will be on hand.

“We are honored to be selected to talk about our work with citizens of Montgomery County, and discuss ways we can work together to improve anti-discrimination policies and protections in Pennsylvania,” Carol E. Tracy, Executive Director of the Women’s Law Project, said in a statement. “We’re in an all-hands-on-deck moment. Every person who values equality and justice needs to speak up against pay discrimination, sexual harassment, and pregnancy discrimination in the workplace, and call for concrete solutions.”

The discussion will be moderated by local attorney Melissa Boyd.

A scholarship fund has been established in partnership with the Montgomery County Foundation. A total of 13 Montgomery County women, between the ages of 18 and 26, have received $11,000 in scholarships since its founding.

The Presidential is located on 2910 DeKalb Pike.
