Montana PSC releases survey to gauge where Internet service is most needed
HELENA, Mont. (AP) -- The Montana Public Service Commission is looking to find out which parts of the state lack high-speed Internet services so it can recommend future broadband projects.
The commission told its staff last month to identify areas of the state with inadequate Internet service and to begin discussions with CenturyLink and possibly other carriers about extending broadband services
The survey is available at the PSC's Helena office, by mail or online at http://psc.mt.gov/Survey/Broadband/. The survey asks 12 questions about the respondent's broadband access and availability.
The commission will take survey answers until May 1.
PSC officials say the survey results will be analyzed before meeting with telecommunications providers to recommend deployment projects.
