Red Bull has been a major player in motorsports with its F1 team and Rallycross series, but now, there's a new energy drink in the racing world. Yep, say "goodbye" to the NASCAR Sprint Cup because Monster Energy is now the series' title sponsor.

NASCAR and Monster energy made their partnership official with a Wednesday announcement of a multi-year sponsorship deal. The exact length of the sponsorship hasn't been announced yet, but Monster will become the sponsor for NASCAR's All-Star race as well as the series' official energy drink. Monster will also continue to sponsor Kurt Busch's #41 car as well.

With Sprint's sponsorship deal ending on December 31st of this year, NASCAR bigwigs considered a number of companies, but ultimately went with Monster because of its position as a youth lifestyle brand.

A name for the new series hasn't been agreed upon yet, but we at R&T hopes Monster will extend its sponsorship to NASCAR's truck series. Get it? Monster Truck Series!

In any case, this partnership is a smart move for all parties involved. NASCAR needs to find a way to attract a younger audience, and Monster will have its name attached to the biggest race series in the U.S. Sounds like a win-win.
