Monday morning sits in the 60s and upper 50s under mostly clear skies and light winds. The higher start to the day will lead to a higher finish as temperatures make a run for the upper 80s.

We’re expected to top out around 87 degrees with the current record high for today being 89 degrees set back in 1936.  We’ll flirt with the record high today before a gradual cooling trend pushes into mid-week.

Winds will be a bit breezier in our mountains as highs only hit the mid-70s. Look for a low rain chance to impact our western-facing slopes this afternoon and evening as moisture increases over the Carolinas.

Lows tonight will dip into the 60s, setting the stage for another day with well above normal-temperatures. Highs touch the mid-80s on Tuesday before Wednesday only peaks in the low 80s.

The mid-80s will finish off the work week on Thursday & Friday as rain chances gradually ramp up. Look for showers and cooler temperatures to move in through the weekend.

Today: Mostly Sunny & Hot. High: 87.

Tonight: Partly Cloudy & Mild. Low: 61.
