This Mom Recreates Celebrity Moms' Photos and It's Hilarious
As much you might like to cry out, "Celebrity moms! They're just like regular, non-famous people!" - you probably know that, well, they're not. Sure, in their corporeal form and their biological makeup they're the same and have the capacity to feel the same things - like when it comes to their stretch marks and bodies and relationships and whatnot - but celebrities have people helping them out and $$$ that non-famous, non-rich people typically don't. And celebrities make things look so. Freaking. Glamorous...when for most people, life isn't glamorous at all.
Comedian and mom Kate Casey is poking fun at that concept by imitating celebrity photos - especially those from celebrity moms, like Kim Kardashian...
...and Mariah Carey....
...and Kate Hudson....
"I kept looking at pictures of celebrities in magazines and thinking how funny it would be to compare a normal mom versus a celebrity mom or a mother featured in a magazine," she said to Huffington Post.
Though the photos - which she's been taking for several years - are certainly silly, they also serve a point: that regular humans don't have airbrushing to help them look glamorous all the time, and that that's OK. In fact, it's a little ridiculous.
"It's easy to compare yourself to a glamorous celebrity," she said. "What's happened to my face? These kids have destroyed my once bikini ready body. I can sort of remember what it was like to have thick and glossy hair. These pictures just highlight that it's okay to laugh at yourself and the absurdity of airbrushed and staged photos."
Right: Most people's candid photos will not look like Gisele's...and that's more than fine.
