After reading about the #MermaidThighs trend — the anti-thigh gap, body-positive movement for women whose thighs touch (read: most women) — mom of three and BabyCenter blogger Melissa Willets wrote a funny post about starting a new trend: the #MomfinTop.

“In case you aren’t human, and don’t have a squishy roll of tummy blubber that spills out of your jeans, shorts, yoga pants, and every other item of clothing ever sewn,” she wrote, “this is what it looks like” — here Willets shared a photo of her muffin top.

She continued: “It typically appears after you’ve had a baby and your stomach skin gets stretched past what God intended, then refuses to respond to diet or exercise post-baby, and basically becomes a permanent feature of your body for all of eternity.”

The blogger also called out how noticeable the loose skin is when you’re doing plank position — “part of pretty much every Beach Body workout video ever created. Then, you happen to glance down at your midsection, and notice, with horror, the skin hanging there like a curtain between your boobs and your hips,” she wrote.

Willets joins a string of mommy bloggers and celebrities — from mom of three Rachel Hollis, who proudly posted a photo of her “permanently flabby” figure (her words) in a bikini, to new mom Chrissy Teigen showing off her stretch marks — who are honest about how their bodies have changed postpregnancy. Their refreshing openness and humor help others become more accepting of their own bodies.

As for Willets, what does she hope women do after reading her #MomfinTop post? “Laugh!” she tells Yahoo Style. “The truth is I like my body after three kids — although sometimes I struggle to accept it. But this photo obviously isn’t perfectly curated. It’s real. I wish more moms would show their real side, and not their perfectly angled, sucked-in shots, hair done, makeup, etc. Then maybe we could all leave the house feeling a little better about ourselves, #MomfinTop and all!”
