This Mom Dresses Her Baby In the Most Amazing Costumes While She Naps
There's almost nothing cuter than a sweet, sleeping baby-except for one donning amazing and amusing pint-sized costumes everyday.
Four-month-old Joey Marie Choi from southern California has become a viral star thanks to her mom, Laura Izumikawa Choi, who dresses her as celebrities and pop culture icons while she sleeps soundly during her afternoons naps. Laura, who is also a professional photographer, shares the fun images of her daughter on her Instagram account several times a week.
While most new parents try to rest while the baby naps, Laura told the Huffington Post she prefers a different kind of downtime.
"I would end up just staring at her face all day and night because I was just so in love," she said. "Because Joey slept so deeply, I thought it'd be fun adding little props on her just to send some hilarious pictures to our parents. It was a way to memorialize her growth and little milestones."
The new mom creates each costume using wigs, toys, garments, and craft supplies. Each custom-made outfit is inspired by famous TV and movie characters, and musicians like Beyonce, Maria von Trapp from The Sound of Music, and even Pikachu.
"I really hope she'll see the photos and videos in the future and have a good laugh," Laura said. "Hopefully she'll see how loved she was."
And loved she is! Since sharing Joey's first dress-up post about 12 weeks ago, her Instagram account has grown to 83,000 followers.
