According to a press release, while investigators were serving a warrant in a previous crime in February, law enforcement saw the child in the cage.

The makeshift cage was a play pen that was covered and tied shut, not allowing the child to stand or exit the play pen, the press release states.

“The cage and 2-year-old were covered in human fecal matter. There was fecal matter on the walls. The child and bedding were soaked in urine and fecal matter,” the press release states.
