This Mom's "Moana" Parody Is Too Real For Parents Who Never Hear a "Thank You"

From Redbook

Most parents can agree they don't hear "thank you" from their kids as often as they should - and you've probably shouted "You're welcome!" at your kids who are halfway out the door with their homemade lunch, soccer clothes, and school project in hand - things that wouldn't be possible without your round-the-clock-dedication.

So the song "You're Welcome" from Moana was pretty much begging for a mom parody, and YouTuber MyLifeSuckers - who's already parodied hits like "All About That Bass" and "Shake It Off" - was clearly up for the task.

This part resonates all too well: "What can I say except you're welcome / For the toys, the meals, for your life / I do your laundry every day, you're welcome! / I'm just an ordinary mommy, who has two boobs and gave you life / Who raised you from yay high? This mom!"

Around 1:38 she gets into a smooth rap break that probably sounds a lot like the rant going through your head 24 hours a day: "Kid, honestly I could go on and on / Name everything that I do as your mom / The rides, the snacks, the cat from the pound / Here I am cleaning your mess off the ground / I made all your meals, I wiped your butt / You grew like a weed, you're driving me nuts / I taught you a lesson when you were naughty / Don't mess with mommy when she's on the potty."

She also references the things she gave up to be a mom - her hair, her bod - and gives a shout out to "the stretch marks on my skin are the signs of the kids i birthin'." But in the end, "I do it all for my family squad," so it's pretty sweet.

For comparison's sake, here's the original video from the film, sung by sentimental dad himself Dwyane "The Rock" Johnson:
