Mohave County Sheriff’s Office identifies remains found in desert

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — The Mohave County Sheriff’s Office said they believe they have identified remains found in the desert as a 19-year-old who was reported missing three years ago.

According to the Sheriff’s office, at around 9:45 a.m. on Wednesday, May 1, dispatch received a call that human remains were found in a remote desert area near the Meadview Overlook.

Detectives responded to the scene and, after reviewing the evidence at the scene, said they believed the remains were that of Brandon William Parish, 19, of Meadview, Arizona.

Police did not say what evidence led them to believe the remains belonged to Parish.

Family members of Parish reported him missing in March 2021 and had not spoken to him since February 2021, detectives said.

According to police, the remains were recovered and taken to the Mohave County Medical Examiner’s Office, which will conduct an autopsy to confirm the identity and determine a cause of death.

Police said there were no indications of foul play on the scene. The investigation is ongoing.
