Mohamed Sanu is Atlanta's best quarterback
The Atlanta Falcons haven’t experienced the most charmed season since their Super Bowl collapse in February, but they certainly have found ways to have fun with it.
Atlanta dug deep into the playbook on Sunday in a 34-20 victory against Tampa and put wideout Mohamed Sanu in the backfield with some incredible results. After bobbling the snap, Sanu regained his composure and fired off a rainbow throw to Julio Jones for a 51-yard touchdown.
Wait. WHAT?!@Mo_12_Sanu is tossing TDs!

That’s as good of a throw as Falcons fans have seen this season and that it came from Sanu shouldn’t be surprising. The receiver has been called upon to sub in at quarterback a handful of times in his career with outstanding results.
Mohamed Sanu has a perfect 158.3 passer rating in his career.
He is 6-6 for 228 yards and 3 TD.

Even more amazing here is that for a moment Sanu tied starter Matt Ryan for touchdown passes to Jones this season (one). That must’ve sparked Ryan, who came back out for the next drive and promptly fired off a 25-yard touchdown to Jones himself.
Sanu’s arm caught the eye of Detroit Lions wideout Golden Tate:

At this point Atlanta just needs to get the ball in Jones’ hands anyway it can. If using Sanu to do so is working, then don’t stop now.
