Mobile woman sentenced for 2020 murder: DA’s Office

MOBILE, Ala. (WKRG) — A Mobile woman faces 20 years in prison for a May 2020 murder, according to the Mobile County District Attorney’s Office.

Titiana Overton Shelton, 38, was sentenced for the May 10, 2020, murder of Klintaveus Thompson, according to the DA’s Facebook post.

Shelton reportedly started a fight with one of Thompson’s friends, who was in the third trimester of pregnancy, according to the DA’s office.

Thompson then pulled Shelton off his friend, and they both fell through a glass window.

According to the testimony of Assistant District Attorney Coy Morgan, Shelton got up, pulled out a .40-caliber pistol from her purse, and pistol-whipped Thompson multiple times before shooting him in the back, which was the cause of his death.

Shelton then fled the scene and was arrested by the Mobile Police Department the next day, according to the post.

She was found guilty of the shooting in March.
