Mobile Police conducting training May 6 and 7

MOBILE, Ala. (WKRG) — The Mobile Police Department is conducting its Advanced Law Enforcement Rapid Response Training on May 6 and May 7, according to a news release from the department.

The release said the training will occur at the old Greystone School on Azalea Road.

“This type of training requires the officers to use firearms and other explosive devices to prepare for terrorist and hostage type situations,” read the release.

Officials said neighborhoods around the old school will likely hear those sounds.

Training will take place from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on both days.
