Mobile man leads police on car chase, gets arrested: MPD

MOBILE, Ala. (WKRG) — A local man is behind bars after allegedly leading police on a chase, according to the Mobile Police Department.

An MPD news release said officers attempted to pull over a vehicle Friday around 11:30 p.m. for a traffic violation at Government Street and Water Street.

However, the driver, later identified as Kwasi Dejuan Jones, 32, of Mobile, refused to stop, according to the release.

Jones allegedly led police on a short chase that ended at Oakdale Avenue and Bayview Street. He was arrested and taken to Mobile Metro Jail.

He is charged with possession of marijuana, possession of a controlled substance, and warrants.
