A mobile crane crashed into a POSB bank branch at 2A Woodlands Centre Road early Wednesday morning (24 Feb).

The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) said it received a call for assistance at 7am and sent one fire engine and one ambulance to the scene.

No injuries were reported.

The driver of the mobile crane lost control of the vehicle, and the vehicle overturned and collided into the POSB branch.

Asyraf Kuma, a foreign worker who works nearby told Yahoo Singapore, “I did not see what happened, but was near the market and came over to see. I heard the noise from the market. It was very loud and scared me. I didn’t see any ambulance so I think nobody got injured and thank God for that.”

A resident living on the third floor opposite the bank who declined to be named told Yahoo Singapore, “I heard a loud noise and it woke me up. I didn’t know what happened and hopefully the driver is okay. I don’t think the bank closing for a few days will affect us living here much, because there are other POSB ATMs near the market.”

Staff at the POSB declined to comment.

Yahoo Singapore understands a private contractor will be called to remove the crane.
