Mobile County Commission to consider Government Plaza roof replacements

MOBILE, Ala. (WKRG) — A plan to replace a part of the roof at Government Plaza is set to go before the Mobile County Commission on Monday.

The changes would affect flat roofs over the North and South Towers.

The project would replace the roofs’ membranes, which have remained unchanged since the plaza was built in 1994.

The project is expected to cost $7.2 million.

The atrium’s roof will not be affected by the replacements. It was replaced in 2015 for a total of $3.4 million.
