Mistletoe and Merlot returns to Aiken for early holiday shopping

Nov. 10—For residents who don't want to wait until the last minute to do holiday shopping, Mistletoe and Merlot is the perfect opportunity to do so.

The fourth annual holiday shopping event will be held on two days: a preview party on Thursday, Nov. 18, from 6 to 9 p.m. and the full event Friday, Nov. 19, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Both days festivities will be held at Newberry Hall, located at 117 Newberry St. S.W. in downtown Aiken.

The Thursday preview party will feature a souvenir wineglass, cheeseboard and shopping bag for the first 200 guests, heavy hors d'oeuvre, desserts, wine and beer. Attendees will have the first crack at unique gifts from over 40 vendors.

Tickets are $25 and include one drink ticket.

Friday will be the main event, featuring over 40 vendors, with light snacks provided. Many of the items being sold are handmade and boutique, according to the description.

General admission tickets are $5.00 and are good all day.

Tickets for both days can be purchased online at tickets.aikenstandard.com. Tickets do not have to be purchased in advance; they can be bought at the door.

"We are once again thrilled to be hosting this fun event to kick off the holiday season," said Melinda Caldwell, an advertising and events specialist at the Aiken Standard. "Shoppers will be able to find unique items for everyone on their gift lists."
