Missouri man sentenced in Washington County to 15 years for drug trafficking

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (KNWA/KFTA) — A Missouri man was sentenced on Friday for drug trafficking, according to a news release from the United States Attorney’s Office Western District of Arkansas.

Lyle Russell White, 46, of Noel, Missouri, was sentenced to 15 years in federal prison followed by three years of supervised release on one count of distribution of methamphetamine.

In November 2022, detectives with the Benton County Drug Unit and Homeland Security Investigations special agents received information about White trafficking narcotics through Northwest Arkansas.

Law enforcement conducted a controlled purchase of meth from White the same month.

In December 2022, investigators learned White was in Bella Vista and was in possession of a large amount of meth.

A Benton County deputy saw White traveling toward Missouri and recognized him from a previous traffic stop.

In the first traffic stop, White tried to eat controlled substances and conceal bags holding the substances when the vehicle was pulled over, according to the release.

In the second stop, detectives found more than 150 grams of meth in the vehicle.

Criminal records showed that White had several previous convictions, including violations of controlled substance statutes. He was at the time on release for another offense where he possessed meth.
