Missouri man accused of driving to Louisiana to engage in sexual activity with minor

NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — A Missouri man was indicted after he allegedly crossed state lines to engage in illegal sexual activity with a minor.

According to the office of U.S. Attorney Duane A. Evans, 54-year-old Eric Charles Fuller was indicted on Feb. 23 on charges of attempted coercion and enticement of a minor and interstate travel with intent to engage in illicit sexual conduct.

Court documents allege around that Dec. 7, 2023, and Jan. 12, 2024, Fuller attempted to persuade and entice a person he believed to be a 12-year-old girl to engage in sexual activity.

Between Jan. 11, 2024, and Jan. 12, 2024, Fuller allegedly drove from Springfield, Missouri to Mandeville, Louisiana to engage in sexual acts with the person he believed to be a 12-year-old girl.

If convicted, Fuller faces a mandatory minimum sentence of 10 years in prison up to life in prison for the attempted coercion and enticement of a minor charge and a maximum term of imprisonment of not more than 30 years for the interstate travel with intent to engage in illicit sexual conduct charge.

He also faces at least five years and up to a lifetime of supervised release, up to a $250,000 fine and a $100 mandatory special assessment fee for each charge. Fuller may also be required to register as a sex offender.
