Missouri Attorney General reveals top consumer complaints for 2023

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — According to a new report, Missourians are fed up with illegal telemarketing calls and no-call list violations.

Missouri Attorney General Andrew Bailey announced this week the top 10 most common consumer complaints his office handled in 2023.

“As we kick off National Consumer Protection Month, I want to arm Missourians with information that protects them from falling victim to scams,” Bailey said.

“The Attorney General’s Office will continue fighting robocallers, shady contractors, and any others who attempt to rip off Missouri consumers.”

Advocates in the Complaint Unit of the Attorney General’s Office take reports and work to mediate complaints between consumers and businesses.

The AGO’s investigators will look into any alleged fraud after mediation attempts fail, and attorneys will file lawsuits or charges, if necessary.
