Mississippi fugitive wanted for murder arrested in Evansville

EVANSVILLE — A U.S. Marshals task force in Evansville apprehended a Mississippi fugitive Thursday who stands accused of homicide, attempted murder and firearm offenses in his home state, according to officials.

The Vanderburgh County Sheriff's Office announced Thursday afternoon that Adrian Jamal Pam, 33, of Greenville, Mississippi, had been taken into custody and was being held at the Vanderburgh County jail while he awaits extradition proceedings.

According to the release, the U.S. Marshals Service Great Lakes Regional Fugitive Task Force obtained information indicating that Pam was in the "Evansville area" on Thursday.

The task force is comprised of Vanderburgh County Sheriff's Office deputies, Indiana State Police officers and U.S. Marshals.

"Task force officers located Mr. Pam at a residence in the 800 block of Bellemeade Avenue," a release attributed to Sheriff Noah Robinson states. "When confronted by task force officers, Mr. Pam surrendered and was taken into custody without incident."

Robinson directed questions about the case to the Greenville Police Department. The Courier & Press left a message with Greenville Police Chief Marcus R. Turner Sr. on Thursday seeking comment.
