Missing teacher found
May 30—Brittany Sawyer, the Nimitz Middle School teacher last seen April 30 has been found safe, according to the Odessa Police Department.
The OPD did not release any further information.
In his media call last week, Ector County ISD Superintendent Scott Muri said Sawyer gave materials such as laptops, ID and other district-owned items to her landlord who turned them in to the district at Sawyer's request.
"We are deeply concerned ... because this would not be normal behavior," he said May 24.
ECISD conducted a welfare check of the address that the district had for Sawyer. She was not in the home and it was clear the "home had been vacated," Muri said.
