Koalas aren't usually the most ecstatic-looking creatures, but when they're soaked, they look absolutely miserable — albeit adorably so.

A photo of such koala was captured by Russell Latter from the Adelaide Hills in South Australia, Tuesday. The little cutie was found huddling on top of a fence after intense storms left the area flooded.

Latter was walking near a scout camp to check on storm damage, when he noticed the struggling koala in the midst of the pouring rain.

"I walked behind him to shuffle him along and he saw a fence post and he was quite excited by that and he climbed up on it," he told The Advertiser.

"He then looked at me as if to say 'Thanks for that, now find me a gum tree.'"

The touching image has since gone viral after it was posted on Facebook Wednesday, and even landed on the front page of the state's newspaper.

Fortunately, the koala is now safe — found snoozing in a tree by Latter on Thursday. "Not so wet any more," he told the newspaper. The poor little thing.
