10 Jul – Mira Filzah is a familiar face often seen in Malaysian media, and with her more than 3 million followers on Instagram, Taiwan has deemed the actress its best choice as the nation's tourist ambassador.

The 25-year-old will be representing Taiwan in Malaysia and Brunei, making this the first time the nation has picked a tourist ambassador in the two countries, according to Focus Taiwan.

Mira, joined by internet celebrities Yasmin Redzuan, Sharifah Rose and Aisha Liyana, have flown to Taiwan recently to shoot a short film that will serve to promote Taiwan to Muslim travellers from the two Southeast Asian countries.

The promotional movie is called "Salam Taiwan". The use of the word 'salam', which is a greeting in the Malay language, intends to convey the message that Taiwan welcomes Muslim travellers.

"Salam Taiwan" is scheduled to premiere in Malaysia at the end of next month. It will be seen on TV, in cinemas, and online.

This won't be fans' only chance to see Mira on the big screen, however, since the actress is set to appear in the Kabir Bhatia-directed mixed martial arts movie, "Sangkar", in 2019.
