NASSAU, Bahamas (AP) — Authorities in the Bahamas say comic actor Craig Robinson was detained for drug possession as he tried to leave the country and has been ordered to pay a fine.

Royal Bahamas Police Force Superintendent Stephen Dean says the actor best known for his role in NBC's "The Office" was stopped as he attempted to board a plane Wednesday in Nassau.

Dean says a small amount of marijuana and pills deemed suspicious were found by U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers at a pre-clearance checkpoint.

Robinson later appeared before a magistrate and was ordered to pay a $1,000 fine. Prosecutor Ercel Dorsett says Robinson had a half gram of marijuana and 18 ecstasy pills.

The actor was in the Bahamas to perform at a comedy show. His publicist declined comment.
