A new mini-golf and event plex is coming to Spartanburg for those looking for more fun, family events.

Monster Mini Golf, located on 141 Fernwood Dr., behind Hickory Tavern, will feature an indoor, 18-hole golf course, arcade, and a four-lane bowling alley.

Casey Jacobs, Spartanburg native and owner of Monster Mini Golf, said mini-golf is something that has always brought fond, childhood memories.

"I’ve lived in Spartanburg my whole life and vividly remember the older mini golf’s in the area," Jacobs said. "They brought wonderful memories to my childhood. I really wanted to bring that back for all families here. Greenville is a wonderful city but sometimes, especially with young kids, it’s hard to drive there just to do something 'different.'"

Monster Mini Golf is expected to open by August, and the first 100 people to attend the yet-to-be-announced grand opening will receive a $5 arcade card and a free round of mini-golf.

Hours will be Monday through Thursday, 2-9 p.m., Fridays from 2-10 p.m., Saturdays, 12-10 p.m., and Sundays 12-8 p.m.
