Here are the 2024 Minerva High School Alumni Hall of Fame inductees:

Dr. W. Lynn Campbell

Minerva High School Class of 1988

A lifelong educator and Marine Corps veteran, Campbell earned bachelor’s and master’s degrees in education from Kent State University, and his doctorate in educational administration from Youngstown State University. He has taught in Berea City Schools, Osnaburg Local Schools, East Palestine City Schools and Kirtland Local Schools. He now is superintendent of Orange City School District, which is located on the east side of Cleveland.

Dan Toalston

Minerva High School Class of 1969

The art education graduate from Kent State University enters this Hall of Fame for his lifetime of community service, especially to the youth of Minerva. As an active member of Minerva First Christian Church, Toalston created and has managed the puppet ministry for 34 years. He has held other roles in the church over the years. He has been involved in scouting all his life, and earned his Eagle Scout honor. He was scoutmaster of Boy Scout Troop 150 for 14 years. He is currently the charter representative for Cub Scout Pack 150 and Boy Scout Troop 150. Toalston coached Minerva youth baseball teams for 14 years. In 2016, he was named Minerva Person of the Year by Minerva’s service organizations.

Cathy (Bartley) Viola

Minerva High School Class of 1973

Viola participated in the marching and symphonic bands, National Honor Society, and was yearbook editor in school. She graduated from Mount Union in 1976 with a bachelor in business management, as one of five females in the program. She is being honored for her professional and volunteer lifetime commitment to the Minerva community. Viola worked for Bartley Funeral Home and Ambulance Service; and she holds three state licensures as a funeral home director since 1979, EMT since 1989, insurance agent since 1987, and has held a substitute teaching license since 2013. She has been the driving force for the Minerva Coats for Kids program since 1984, and has been involved in many other organizations either through donations, completing forms, or distributions. With a house in town, many children played in her home, and because of being a substitute teacher, her world has come full circle because those children are now her coworkers, and their children are now her students.
