Mineral Wells State Park to fill with Texas State Guard troops, vehicles training this weekend

May 13—MINERAL WELLS — State troops, local first responders and others will fill Mineral Wells State Park this coming weekend for a search and rescue drill.

An announcement forwarded by Mineral Wells Fire/EMS said troops and vehicles will descend on the state park Friday to set up for the weekend exercise.

The training will take place on Saturday. It will simulate search, rescue and recovery scenarios to sharpen emergency response skills.

The drill is led by the First Brigade of the Texas State Guard, the defense force branch of the Texas Military Department.
