Milton state trooper to meet, have coffee with visitors in Turbotville

May 22—TURBOTVILLE — State police are hosting Coffee with a Cop on Saturday as an opportunity for residents to meet with law enforcement for casual conversations.

Milton state trooper Sara Barrett will be available to meet with the public at The Old Farmer's Table, on State Route 54 in Turbotville from 8:30 a.m. to 10 a.m.

Barrett, who also serves as the state police spokesperson, said the idea of the program is to interact with people.

"This is a great way to meet and talk with people," she said. "We encourage people to come out ask questions and enjoy a cup of coffee while we continue to build a relationship with our community and law enforcement."

Spokesperson Anthony Petroski, of Troop N in Hazleton, said the program offered by state police is beneficial to the community.

"Coffee with a Cop is a great initiative where troopers can engage with community members, that we serve, every day, in a comfortable setting," he said.

Petroski said it's important to put residents and police in a comfortable setting, as opposed to a crime or emergency scene.

"Simple conversations go a long way," he said.

Barrett said she encourages people to attend.

"We look forward to seeing and meeting everyone," she said.
