Millionaire Travels the World Without Spending $$$

From Cosmopolitan

If you've ever fantasized about quitting your job, selling all your earthly possessions, and traveling the world, this family might just convince you to actually pull the trigger.

After his company Scan was acquired by Snapchat in 2014, co-founder Garrett Gee received a portion of the $54 million buyout, and immediately put it into savings. Three months later, the now-28-year-old decided to quit his job and travel around the world with his wife, Jessica, and their two young children - without spending a penny from his savings.

Instead, according to Business Insider, he and his wife sold everything they owned for about $45,000, and decided that they would try to stretch it out over the next six months or until the money ran out. They then embarked on their journey, and began tracking their travels on social media and a blog under the name The Bucket List Family. By the time they were down to their last $5,000 - about five months in - they began getting sponsorships and partnerships on social media.

"Right before we had spent through our initial $45,000, we turned the corner and became profitable," Gee told Business Insider.

The family has now been traveling the world for over a year, and thanks to their blog and social media earning, they shows no signs of slowing down anytime soon. In fact, Gee says that they still haven't touched the millions he made from Snapchat.

"It is being safely saved and invested. I plan to live as if it doesn't exist and, in a way, start over," he said. "I'm young, and I want to keep my hardworking entrepreneurial spirit alive and well. I don't want to get comfortable. I don't want to settle down. So for me, I'm starting back at zero and building my way up. Again."
