Milk Makeup’s New Foundation Is Like Facetune in a Tube

You can swipe your way to perfect skin with a wave of a wand on photo retouching apps like Facetune. But not everyone has the time or skills to maneuver such software for the sake of a good selfie. Thankfully, Milk Makeup has created a product that makes you look just as photo-ready in real life.

The Blur Liquid Matte Foundation makes skin literally flawless. It boasts a lightweight, full-coverage formula that “blurs” out dark spots, fine lines, large pores, and other imperfections to leave behind a smooth finish. There’s no silicone, dimethicone, or oil, so your skin can actually “breathe” while wearing this makeup and not look supershiny or cakey.

After 10 months of mixing only four pigments (red, yellow, black, and white), the Milk Makeup team concocted a collection of 16 shades, from ivory to deep. While the range of fairer hues outnumber the medium to dark options (we hope they expand soon), the color payoff among the richer tones is surprisingly impressive.

It’s clear that the brand took into consideration the complexities of their consumer by offering foundations with cool, warm, and golden undertones. This diversity is reflected in the campaign imagery, which features professional models as well as women of various ages and backgrounds that the team discovered on Instagram.

So how do you use it? You’ll only need one to three tiny drops (the needle-nose nozzle dispenses just the right amount) of the Blur Liquid Matte Foundation to achieve a your-skin-but-better glow. And because the product possesses a serum-like texture, you can apply with your fingertips or use a brush to sheer it out with your favorite moisturizer to create a DIY BB cream.

This is probably the only full-coverage foundation we’ll be wearing for the rest of the summer.

Milk Makeup Blur Liquid Matte Foundation ($40) is now available at milkmakeup.com, sephora.com, and urbanoutfitters.com.
