Mike Pence, the former vice president and Indiana governor, plans to attend this year's Indianapolis 500.

The probable presidential candidate is no stranger to the Indy 500. He and his wife Karen have attended more than 30 times over the years, including last year.

A Pence aide confirmed he was attending and said not to expect a campaign announcement at the event.

Pence has said that he would make a decision "before late June." He would join a crowded Republican field that includes his former boss, former President Donald Trump, who has a large lead in early polling.

In the clearest indication yet of Pence's intentions, a Super PAC encouraging his run came online this week. Pence has also been making appearances in early primary states like Iowa and New Hampshire.
