Mike Leach compliments loudness of Oregon's stadium... sort of

Mike Leach apparently isn’t all that impressed by the road atmospheres in the Pac-12.

Ahead of his team’s trip to Eugene on Saturday, the Washington State coach said Oregon’s Autzen Stadium is the loudest in the conference. But then he named about 10 other stadiums that are louder than Autzen in a way only Leach could.

Leach has coached in the SEC, Big 12 and Pac-12, so he’s certainly been to many stadiums as he mentioned. But the loudest stadium he’s experienced? He says it is War Memorial Stadium in Little Rock, Arkansas, where the Razorbacks play at least one game every season.

Leach said it sounds like there are about 250,000 people in there because it’s an “entirely concrete structure.”

“It’s as if you had a football game in the neighbor’s basement and all the kids were yelling louder than hell,” he said.

There’s never a dull moment in a Leach press conference. That’s for sure.
