Migrants Rush Across Tijuana River Near US Border

Hundreds of migrants rushed towards the US port of entry from Tijuana, Mexico, after breaking through a police blockade on November 25.

Footage recorded at the scene shows a crowd running across the Tijuana River near El Chaparral.

Upon reaching the border, some attempted to breach the fence, according to a US Customs and Border Protection statement. As a result, the United States closed its port of entry in San Ysidro, California.

Tear gas was also reportedly fired across the border after some migrants threw rocks at the gate, as seen in a video captured by a reporter on the scene.
