Midterms 2018: When will the polls close and when will we know the winners?
2018’s midterm elections are breaking polling records across the country, but there’s still time to get more votes in.
When do the polls close?
California, Oregon, Washington state, Hawaii, the panhandle of Idaho and the Central Time part of North Dakota: 8pm Pacific Standard Time.
Most of Alaska: 8pm Alaska Standard Time
Aleutian Alaska Islands: 8pm Hawaii Standard Time
Most of Idaho (minus the panhandle), Nevada, Iowa, Montana, southeast corner of Oregon, Utah, most of North Dakota, Iowa: 9pm Central Standard Time, 8pm Mountain Standard Time, 7pm Pacific Standard Time
Arizona, Colorado, part of Kansas, Louisiana, part of Michigan, Minnesota, Nebraska, New Mexico, New York, part of South Dakota, western tip of Texas, Wisconsin, Wyoming: 9pm Eastern Standard Time, 8pm Central Standard Time, 7pm Mountain Standard Time.

When can you expect results?
Answers from exit polls can come in quickly after polls close, but they are not official results. It may take until 10pm or later for each state to count and tally up the votes before they can declare winners.
