Midterm elections: Celebrities including Tom Hanks, Gwyneth Paltrow and John Krasinski cast their votes
Celebrities have started casting their ballots for the midterms – and they're using social media to encourage their followers to do the same.
A-listers such as Gwyneth Paltrow, Tom Hanks and John Krasinski have already posted selfies featuring either their ballots or "I voted" stickers from their polling stations.
Several took advantage of early-voting options to make their voices heard ahead of Tuesday and weigh in on who they want to see control the Senate and the House of Representatives.
A record voter turnout was expected on Tuesday. Thirty-five million early votes having already been cast, topping the 20 million early votes recorded during the last midterms in 2014.
Among those early ballots is that of Gwyneth Paltrow, who proudly posed with her "I voted" sticker in a snap she shared on Monday.
"It's a right not to be taken for granted so I did it a day early and I'm gonna rock this sticker all day," she wrote next to the image.
