“Young girls they’re usually exposed to the very surface level of careers but when you think about careers in STEM, most girls think about doctors or nurses, it’s so important to open their eyes because there’s so much more to medicine than being a doctor or nurse,” stated Lavinia Harrison program manager from Pathway Programs Department.

“I look up to nurses a little bit because they help people so that’s why I wanted to become something in the medical field,” Markeyia Blue from Atlantic City.

Women who are medical students, healthcare professionals, and from higher education hosted the various stations at the “Girls in Sciences” event in Scranton.
