Michelle Obama Says She’ll ‘Never Forgive’ Trump for Birther Attacks on Her Husband
Michelle Obama spoke for the first time about President Trump’s attacks on husband, zeroing in on his years of promoting the false conspiracy that he was born in Kenya.
In a new memoir slated for publication next week, the former first lady said she would “never forgive,” the billionaire for his role in the birther conspiracy, which she said put her family at risk.
“What if someone with an unstable mind loaded a gun and drove to Washington? What if that person went looking for our girls?” she wrote in the book “Becoming.”
“Donald Trump, with his loud and reckless innuendos, was putting my family’s safety at risk. And for this, I’d never forgive him.”

The line was read in full on air by “Good Morning America” host George Stephanopoulos Friday and prompted a stunned whistle from someone off camera.
“Because the rhetoric, because of the mistruths, because of the lies that he was saying about the birther situation that was not true, she’s a Momma bear,” said co-host Robin Roberts. “Michelle Obama is a momma bear when it comes to her family.”

Before he became president, Trump spent years propagating the false accusation that President Obama was not a U.S. citizen and thus an illegitimate president.
The billionaire regularly went on “Fox & Friends” to spout the claim with little-to-no pushback from the show’s hosts. The attacks lingered on even after Obama produced his long-form birth certificate showing conclusively that he had been born in Hawaii.
In the book, Obama also spoke about her reaction to the “Access Hollywood” video in which Trump boasted about sexually assaulting women. My “body buzzed with fury after hearing that tape,” said Obama in the book. She went on to express her surprise that the American people would elect a “misogynist” over “an exceptionally qualified female candidate.”
