Forget tacky Christmas sweaters or festive sequins--First Lady Michelle Obama was the fashion highlight of the holiday season in an absolutely stunning off-the-shoulder emerald green gown that ensured she went out in style at her and President Obama's final Kennedy Center Honors on Sunday.

The president attended the star-studded awards ceremony alongside his wife to pay his respects to Al Pacino, members of the Eagles, and singers Mavis Staples and James Taylor, who were being honored for their influence in the arts; and the ever-stylish First Lady made sure to make a lasting impression at the couple's eighth and final Washington D.C. gala.

FLOTUS dazzled in a festive head-to-toe custom Gucci green and camellia floral silk crepe long-sleeve gown that showed off the 52-year-old's toned shoulders and featured metallic green and pink floral embellishments. The mom-of-two kept the flattering color palette going in her beauty look, debuting a soft green smoky eye and a rose pink lip for the occasion.

Delicate Yoko London pearl drop earrings were the perfect accompaniment to Mrs. Obama's trendy new lob, which she revealed just days ago. She wore her hair down in a sleek, center-parted look to perfectly complement her statement ensemble.

The president, who looked dapper in a classic black suit at the gala, received a standing ovation as he spoke at the pair's last ceremony, saying, "The arts help us celebrate our triumphs, but also hold up a mirror to our flaws. They're artists who have served our nation by serving their truth, and we're all better off for it."
