Michael B. Jordan is totally internet BF material — even though he lives with his mom

Michael B. Jordan is having a moment — and enjoying it.

While he’s long been a star (see: baby-face MJ in The Wire and All My Children), Jordan in megahit Black Panther is next level. Killmonger has caused his fandom to explode, which you need no further proof of beyond the endless Michael “Bae” Jordan mentions on Twitter. (Yes, that’s his internet-given nickname. While he’s long been “Bae” to many, he’s been embraced by many more as of late.)

Frankly, there are many reasons to like the guy — beyond the whole he’s in a superhero movie and looks good with his shirt off reasoning. (Though that’s OK too.)

Here are a few reasons we especially like:

1. He lives with his parents.

Or they live with him. Jordan, 31, may want to get technical about it, but we don’t. We just think it’s sweet. (We bet Bradley Cooper and Chrissy Teigen, two other stars who have a parent as a roomie, would agree.)

2. He’s adorably nerdy.

After discussing in a recent interview how he lives with his ’rents and loves anime, a fan called out those facts — as well as his height — as negatives.

But he stuck up for himself.

Twice! The second time was when someone thought his anime references were too basic.

3. He loves his co-stars — and isn’t afraid of a good bromance.

Do Jordan and Chadwick Boseman have a nickname yet? If not, they should.

4. He knows the words to ’90s classics.

And stomps his foot right along to them. Shout-out to K-Ci & JoJo.

5. He’s supportive of women’s empowerment.

During a recent interview with GQ U.K., he discussed the #MeToo movement. “I think it’s just a cleansing,” said the star. “I think it’s a power thing and that’s in all industries. I feel like whenever there’s power and men in power, there’s going to be an abuse of power, that’s just human nature. … People that were scared to say or speak their truth now are feeling comfortable. People are going to be more responsible with the positions that they are in right now and that’s taught down. The assistants that are coming up, the producers, the actors coming up — everybody’s learning. You have to weed the motherf***ers out so the next crop that come up can learn the right way.” And he has a way with words on the topic.

6. He aspires to be a trendsetter.

Will Killmonger’s hairstyle take over the world? We leave those types of predictions to the Yahoo Lifestyle editors. But the Friday Night Lights and Creed alum told us, “I think it might set a little bit of a trend. I could see that.”

7. He makes good on his bets.

After losing a bet to his Black Panther co-star Lupita Nyong’o — whom he has been romantically linked to, but there doesn’t seem to be real proof — he’s required to do “on-call pushups” whenever she asks. No matter where they are. She recently had him do one… during New York Fashion Week… in a pit of popcorn. And he did it with a smile.

If that alone isn’t reason enough that he’s boyfriend material, we’re not sure what is.
