Metro to Reopen Tuesday Afternoon

The Washington D.C. Metro system will restore bus and rail service beginning at 2 p.m. on Tuesday afternoon with Sunday-level service on most lines, according to a news release from the Washington Metro Area Transit Authority.

Normal bus and metro service levels will resume on Wednesday morning, the agency said.

The Authority warns, however, that “residual effects of the storm are still possible." Travelers should allow extra time for bus detours and rail delays “due to downed trees, power lines or flooding.”
