Metro Police asking for information on 26-year-old cold case

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — In late spring of 1998, an East Nashville resident was walking his dog when he discovered a man with a gunshot wound to his chest in a nearby driveway.

The man, identified as Ricky Rydell Young, died at the age of 36.

There were no witnesses to his murder, according to Metro Nashville police, and the trail went cold.

Twenty-six years later, officers still haven’t given up hope on finding out information about what happened to Young and who could have killed him.

“Someone knows what happened to Ricky Young,” police said in a post on Facebook.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Cold Case Unit at 615-862-7329 or the Crime Stoppers line at 615-742-7463. Callers are eligible for a cash reward of up to $5,000 for information.
