Metairie man accused of stealing jerseys, shoes from LSU’s PMAC

BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) — A man is accused of breaking into the assembly center at LSU and stealing items.

According to arrest documents, surveillance footage was found and showed two to three unknown males entering and exiting the Pete Maravich Assembly Center between 2:21 a.m. and 4:52 a.m. on Feb. 28.

LSU police officers were able to locate the suspects arriving and leaving in different vehicles. During an investigation, one of the vehicles was found to be registered to Brett Pemberton, 19, of Metairie. Pemberton can be seen leaving from near the PMAC holding a pair of shoes, according to arrest documents.

A search warrant was executed in Pemberton’s apartment and officers found two LSU volleyball jerseys and a size 15 pair of Nike Lebron shoes, arrest documents said.

Pemberton was arrested and booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison on one count of simple burglary.

Police also noted Pemberton was arrested in November 2023 after being accused of stealing over $4,500 worth of items from Tiger Stadium.
