Mesa County offering spay and neuter vouchers

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KREX) — Mesa County Animal Services is collaborating with local veterinarians to offer spay and neuter vouchers to pet owners in Mesa County.

Spay and neuter vouchers are funded by the Animal Assistance Foundation. With the voucher, the cost of a spay/neuter procedure is $25; vouchers are valid from March 1 to Sept. 15, 2024.

Vouchers are available at the following veterinarian offices:

  • All Pets Center: 970-241-1976

  • Animal Birth Control: 970-523-5487

  • Arrowhead Veterinary Hospital: 970-858-8881

  • CLAWS (cats only): 970-241-3793

  • Cottonwood Veterinary Hospital: 970-245-0135

  • Footprints Animal Hospital: 970-241-4247

  • Grand View Animal Hospital: 970-523-2060

  • Redlands Pet Clinic: 970-245-4060

  • VCA Tiara Rado Animal Hospital: 970-243-4007

Pet owners must provide proof of current rabies vaccination at the time of the procedures. The cost of rabies vaccination is not covered by the $25 co-pay; if your pet is unvaccinated, you will need to pay for that service.

There are a limited number of vouchers for 2024 and vouchers are issued at the discretion of the veterinarian’s office. Those seeking a voucher may be asked to explain their financial needs or circumstances.
