Meryl Streep & Cher Are a Real-Life Crime-Fighting Duo
Move over, Batman and Robin. Meryl Streep and Cher can take it from here.
Streep, an Oscar-winning actress and one-woman neighborhood watch, revealed on Wednesday night during her speech at the International Press Freedom Awards that she and Cher once stopped a New York City mugging.
The Post star detailed the frightening encounter and said she relied on her thespian training to scare off the criminal.
“I just went completely nuts and went after this man,” Streep said. “Ask Cher—she was there. And the thug ran away. It was a miracle.”
The dynamic duo will reunite for next year’s Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again, the Mamma Mia sequel. The cast can now rest assured that these two crime fighters will have their back should any trouble arise.
