Mercer County Schools thanks the community for passing the excess school levy

MERCER COUNTY, WV (WVNS) — The excess school levy in Mercer County was successfully passed after votes were tallied from the Primary Election on Tuesday, May 14, 2024.

Members of Mercer County Schools thanked the people of Mercer County for helping support the educational system. The levy will go towards supporting extracurriculars like band, choir, academic fairs, sports, as well as building utility maintenance, having important supplements for staff and coaches, as well as free textbooks.

Voters pass the Fayette County Fire Levy

This victory is a testament to the strong community spirit in Mercer County. Our citizens have shown their commitment to the future of our children, and for that, we are profoundly grateful.

The passing of the levy will go towards helping Mercer County Schools make sure that students get high quality education by being able to bring in service and professional personnel with salary supplements.
