The newly launched Mercedes-Benz AMG SLC 43 priced at Rs 77.5 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) is a replacement to the older SLK 55 AMG. The event marks the introduction of the first ever ‘43’ nomenclature for the Indian market. Loaded with modern style upgrades and a new engine under the hood, the roadster is all geared up to compete with the likes of BMW Z4 and the upcoming Porsche 718 Boxster.

Unlike the older massive 5.5-litre, naturally aspirated V8 engine, which powered the SLK 55 AMG, the newly launched Mercedes-AMG SLC 43 gets a 3.0-litre V6 biturbo engine which generates about 361bhp of power and 500Nm of torque. Mated to a new nine-speed automatic gearbox, the vehicle is capable of doing a 0 – 100kmph in just about 4.7 seconds. The roadster’s top speed is electronically restricted to 250kmph. The new engine though having undergone a massive downsizing, does not fail to impress with better fuel efficiency figures and ample power.

As seen in the international markets, the Mercedes-AMG SLC 43 is also offered with several 18-inch alloy/tyre combinations, intelligent LED headlights, COMAND infotainment and communication system, premium leather upholstery and a Harman Kardon surround sound system. The roadster is offered with ambient lighting in shades of polar blue, solar red and polar white. In terms of safety, it gets all modern safety features.
