Memphis weather: Rainy forecast for Memphis in May, barbecue contest

Memphis in May's barbecue contest and the new SmokeSlam barbecue contest are both set to start this week in two different parts of the city.

Memphis in May will be held at Liberty Park from Wednesday, May 15, to Saturday, May 18. SmokeSlam will be on Riverside Drive from Thursday, May 16, to Saturday, May 18.

As many Memphians know, April showers typically roll over into May, and this year is no exception according to the National Weather Service. It may be a good idea to pack an extra pair of rainboots or two, because this year looks like it will be a mud fest.
